“Wise words are more valuable than much gold and many rubies.” Proverbs 20:15 NLT
Over the past few days I have listened to a few wise words. In conversations with other believers some words were inspired and spoke directly to circumstances I was thinking through. Those words were better than any physical gift that I could have received.
When I was growing up there were many occasions that I would receive gifts for birthdays, Christmas and other occasions. I remember very few of them and even those I do remember have little application in my life beyond a warm memory . And yet, there were just a few occasions when my dad would say something that would wind up staying with me for a lifetime. Some things would be personal, but others would be just be practical.
A few of Dads practical words that instantly come to mind:
“Don’t sweat the small stuff.”
“Buy quality and you will never be sorry.”
God often uses His Spirit to inspire us with impactful words and thoughts to help us navigate life this side of eternity. Be certain to both speak and listen to those wise words; they are “more valuable than much gold and many rubies.”
