“You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” Proverbs 19:21 NLT

Sometimes it is easy to wear the weight of decisions to be made as if it depends upon us entirely. That is more pressure than any one of us can bear. There are an infinite combination of decisions and results to be calculated that have another infinite number of variables making the predictability of outcome something that would defy human intelligence. Even for the best of us. That is work that only God is capable of.

We can make plans, but the Lord’s purposes will prevail. He will set things right. I continue to remind myself that God’s ability to succeed is greater than my ability to fail. I am not powerful and don’t have enough control to mess up His plans.

It seems to me that the best thing that I can do is rather than spend time stressing over decisions is to seek Him and enjoy the journey, knowing that He is in control. That doesn’t mean that I don’t do all that I can to work hard and make wise decisions, it only means that God is working all around each of us to make sure that those efforts align with His purposes.

This week, make the best decision you can and then trust the Lord with the results.

In His Hands,

John
