“The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices.” Proverbs 21:3 NLT

It is the stuff that bad religion is made of. Dutifully sacrificing our time, talents and treasures;  but not sacrificing our will and heart to do what is right.

It is not the sacrificial acts of a man or woman who desires to be pleasing to the Lord that delights His heart – but the one that walks in spirit and truth – the one that dies to the self-life and lives to Christ.

God desires us to abide in Him, nurture our relationship,  and have Him as the center of our lives. When we look at our sacrifice instead of looking to the Lord, we are looking in the wrong direction.

This week do what is right, and draw close to the Lord.

In His Hands,

John
