“If the godly give in to the wicked, it’s like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring.” Proverbs 25:26 NLT
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,” a quote that John F. Kennedy attributed to Irish philosopher Edmund Burke in 1961. While the origin may be debated, the principle remains.
We have certainly seen this manifested in our time. Evil has prospered by the practice and promotion from a small, but vocal, percentage of the population.
A walk down the street in many of our larger cities will give a vivid illustration of this ancient proverb. “If the godly give in to the wicked, it’s like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring.” There are consequences for everyone when the godly give in or give up.
This week, don’t give up. Boldly stand up for what is right.
