“If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.” Proverbs 24:10 NLT

I saw a picture with a word bubble last week. It was a picture of one of the many knock downs by the boxer Muhammad Ali. The victim was lying on the canvas with the word bubble “does anyone have any good boxing books”.  The time to train is before the event. The time to know what to do in a disaster is before it comes not in the middle of it.

The military has a saying that “we don’t rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training.”

And when pressure comes in our lives, the way to gain strength is to train. And the training that is particularly valuable is faith training. Faith training? Yes, faith is like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it gets.

And how do we strengthen our faith?  Paul tells us it is by hearing the Word of God.

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17 ESV

This week, prepare for the pressures that will come by listening to the Word of God to strengthen your faith.

In His Hands,

John
