“As workers who tend a fig tree are allowed to eat the fruit, so workers who protect their employer’s interests will be rewarded.‭‭” Proverbs‬ ‭27:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The nature of work has changed quite a bit from ancient times.  Fewer and fewer people work in agriculture, particularly in western culture.  But while the nature of work may have changed, the nature of workers has not.

As believer in the workplace, we need to wrestle against the mindset of “what is in it for me” and lean in to “how I can make a kingdom impact.”

God’s economy is different than that of the world. Give to get is transactional.  Getting because we give is scriptural. One depends on us, the other trusts in the Lord.

When we give of our time, talents and treasures, God blesses our obedience, and often those blessings come to us through others.

This week, work as unto the Lord and if you work for a company, protect your employer’s interests.

In His Hands,

John
