A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber. Proverbs 24:33-34 NLT
Did you notice the repetitive phrase in this week’s Proverb. It is there 3 times. “a little”. This isn’t a verse about gross negligence and consequences, but rather, to use a sports analogy, when you “take your eye off of the ball.”
Poverty and scarcity can come upon you when you lose focus. Bad things happen when you take things for granted. Most things suffer through lack of care, landscape, automobiles, relationships, and vocations all need effort and attention to survive and even more to thrive.
Is there anything in your life that needs attention?
This week keep your “eye on the ball” and maintain your focus I what God has set before you.
