Patience can persuade a prince, and soft speech can break bones.” Proverbs 25:15 NLT

Anger and shouting frequently leads to…. more anger and shouting. Have you ever seen a shouting match won? Have you ever seen anyone change their minds by harsh words?

There were theories sometime in the 60’s and 70’s that offered the Idea of “just get it out“. The theory was that if you just put on boxing gloves and hit the bag it would make you feel better. But as it turns out, research showed, that people don’t feel better by expressing their anger, they feel worse.

Shouting brings out defense mode, and impulsiveness breeds carelessness.

What about patience? I quoted it before, but it bears repeating.  “Patience is the weapon that forces deception to reveal itself.” Patience is a weapon to be used strategically.

Instead of harsh words, us soft ones. There is more power in humility than anger.

This week, be patient and use soft words, they will make all the difference.

In His Hands,
