Trusting a fool to convey a message is like cutting off one’s feet or drinking poison! A proverb in the mouth of a fool is as useless as a paralyzed leg. Honoring a fool is as foolish as tying a stone to a slingshot. A proverb in the mouth of a fool is like a thorny branch brandished by a drunk.” Proverbs 26:6‭-‬9 NLT

Proverbs 26 has several lessons on fools.  This is part two of a 3-part series.

Last week we talked about answering a fool, this week we look at trusting a fool with a message and giving them honor.

The words of the verses bear repeating:

“Trusting a fool to convey a message is like cutting off one’s feet or drinking poison!”

“A proverb in the mouth of a fool is as useless as a paralyzed leg.”

“Honoring a fool is as foolish as tying a stone to a slingshot.”

“A proverb in the mouth of a fool is like a thorny branch brandished by a drunk.”

Words, messages and honor should not be given to a fool.  Foolish people don’t fool people, but they do make those who trust them look foolish.

This week avoid consequences and beware of fools.

In His Hands,

John
